Chiang Mai - Day 9

Took a taxi to an umbrella making village. They make all the components, assemble and paint by hand parasols of every size and description. The only machines they used were for drilling and turning the handle. Other artists were ready to paint a choice of hundreds of designs onto any article of clothing, phone/camera case, handbag, laptop, shoes etc.

Janina had an elephant painted on her bag.

Also a dragon painted on he tee shirt.
