Chiang Mai - Day 3

A fairly quiet day in comparison to the previous 5.........is it only 6 days we've been in Thailand???? Walked to the river, a 30 min stroll. The river boat trip left at 1.30, half hour to grab some lunch. The boat sailed from the temple grounds and no eating places around. Walked out into the road and saw a pickup truck loaded with food and the family owners had set up the cooking facilities on the pavement. A simple meal was 30bhts cooked in no time at all, very tasty......even if auntie doing the cooking used the same spoon to taste the flavour and stir it all up......but this is Thailand.

The river trip was a gentle jaunt upstream, nothing much to see but very relaxing. Stopped at a farm and were given a plate of pineapple and plate of water melon, absolutely delicious.

Took a sorng-taa-ou back to guest house. Janina joined up with Lisa and strolled round the Sunday market, bought a pair of baggy trousers and other nick knacks.

I sat on our balcony and sorted some of the 400 photo's already taken and joined them at 6.30 for a meal at the market food stalls. Strolled through the market and found a bar where we sipped cocktails over looking the hordes of people looking or bartering for a bargain.
