Chiang Mai - Day 4

Joined by Lisa and friend John, we spent the day at Chiang Mai Zoo. The zoo is in a beautiful wooded setting overlooking Chiang Mai. Most of the animals were kept in adequate enclosures and appeared to be in good condition. We started with the panda enclosure and watched 2 adults and 2.1/2 year youngster eating their breakfast. The rest of the day was spent seeing normal zoo animals, a large aviary and the largest aquarium in Asia. Highlights were panda, elephant with 3 month baby which Janina got to stroke, pink hippo, white tiger and gibbon enclosure.
